Chapter 3

In this chapter, El Gato encounters a clearing in the jungle. He was very surprised to have found an open space because they are impossible to find in the jungle. He is even more surprised because in the clearing stands a soccer goal. He starts to panick a little but approaches the goal anyway. He observes the goal post when he quickly learns that he is not alone. He sees a goal keeper holding a soccer ball. A dark shadow covered his face but the Keeper speaks to Gato telling him he belongs there (the goal post). Gato becomes very scared and runs away. The next morning, he doesn't feel well, skips school and goes to watch the game in the Cafe with his Uncle Feliciano. His Uncle then advices El Gato telling him to respect the forest and whatever lies within in. He speaks as if he knows exactly what El Gato witnessed the day before.
